Here are a couple of pictures from a front of our house today. It is warm enough for snow to fall down. Ela is in the front with the snowman: our house from the street our neighborhood Ela preparing a warm breakfast. She is really a good cook

Jaga
It was very considerate of you presenting snow scenes of and around your house...You do have a happy house as described in the photos with Ela and the happy snow man. The snow certainly has the Christmas spirit with the season..
Thank you for sharing

Nictoe, I love Bluish Christmas tree and cookies. It looks like it may be slippery outside, but nice.

Karl, I hope that you also will have a Merry Christmas with Mexican traditions. Let me know! I posted the pictures since it just snowed..... we had some snow already but it was going away. Ela is growing so fast, did you notice? Jaga Yes, your little Ela is no longer little, she is growing into a fine young lady... There generally is no snow here in the valley, just rain. Yesterday was indictive of the temporature of: 22 C {72 F}. It is much different in the surrounding high mountains though. For it is relative with the altitude with a great deal of snow and cold. There are some very fine ski resorts for playing in the snow. Still in the mornings I will turn on the heat in the flat for an hour to prewarm up the place, then not to shiver to death whilst showering and cleaning up for the day. I live alone now that the fellow left that was sharing the flat with. He was transfered out to be placed with personnel for re assignment to another duty station. This is fine for with no one to complain about what I eat. The man had such sensativities to my eating a sardin sandwich for lunch with a nice cup of tea. The man is a Berliner and they are very mouthy indeed so. The population here is a very varied mix of European ancester and Indian/Spanish. With this, they are for the most part, very religious with some rather bazar holidays, as for instance: The day of the dead. They parade with very goulish mask of dead people in celebration of their dead. It is done in respect, but for an out sider, the holiday seems abit off. There is a very large commerical district in Puabla with most of those very well educated and business people. As to travel further away from the central district, becomes more different in people, how they dress, act, into the various out side districts from the city. Some of these areas are very crime infested and not a good place for a white person to walk through. At night, even in an auto, a good place to stay out of. The area of our office (primary communication/information consulidation centre} is on the out skirts but in a commercial district edging to an upscale family community area. With this, it is close to the VW manufacturing werks and as with this, very well patroled by both the local police and Federal Police. With this, the same mafia that is such a problem, is also the same people paid by the upscale residents to guard their homes and property. On my morning walks, most know one another by sight, who we are, and where we work. It is njot secret, the problems begins when there is a problem and the police must come in to investigate. The civil patrol {Mafia}, the local police do not like this, for then the Federal Police must come in and they do not enjoy this, for every one must face unpleasant situations of their investigation untill some resolution is forth coming. In short, a quite area becomes a big mess that most would enjoy to avoid. Then, my self not so good with riding a bicycle taking a fall and cracks his wrist, all of the above comes into play, with the added un-enjoyment of our investigators into the mix. Even my self was wishing to excape to the moon way from all of that. Karl

Karl,
thanks for sharing. I need to spend more time to read personal messages from friends like you. I almost felt like being on the morning walk with you over there in Pueblo, in a good part of the city, of course.... So, can you see snow in the mountains above Pueblo? I can feel for you, if you wanted to have your sardine sandwich and a person you live with, was complaining. This is a beauty of having a roommate.... I like fish very much, I love sardines. But my family, John and Ela would never eat fish soup.
I would like to see the march during the day of Dead. I think I understand this tradition. I rather have this tradition than the Halloween.
We will be gone to Texas on Tuesday, but I will still try to post more,
take care and hope to see more updates from you Karl,,,,,

Hello Everyone. This is my first post. I would be very grateful if you could recommend some links where I can buy a Polish Santa Claus and a Polish Star Man for this Christmas. I have only found a few in the US on ebay and Amazon, they are very expensive and many of them are used. Any suggestions for online stores that sells these Christmas items (Chicago? stores in Poland?) are greatly appreciated!
Dziękuję bardzo!
