Chris (Holli) Some of these postcards are amazing in their concepts (perhaps not in the actual design and so on, but their meanings are clear). An excellent set. Have you any artistic talent? If so, how about producing a set depicting how you see the years after the year 3007? Will we still be hear - possibly all wearing yashmaks, veils etc.! I bet there are still a lot of fatties around!! Leslie

Take a look at postcards drawn in the early 1900's that envisioned the world of 2000. tinyurl.com/2tgngoWith first impression and thought, the post card appears to be comical. But, with second look and thought, the French envisionaries were not actually wrong. Lacking was the currant technology in electrons/light weight gas/turbine power systems and synthetic technology. As a young man, I also was enthralled with the cinema of {Metropolis -1926}. For after passing the age of stick model airplanes {My Messerschmidt clearing the sky of invading Spitfires}{sorry Leslie}. I would become in love with a beautiful robot lady such as {Maria}, we would live our {my}life together. She would never age, but I would grow withered, old, and die. But, whilst together, we would always be safe together with our shared love. -Such is the dreaming of a young man- I do remember though, a mention of one professor. He had said {What man will dream, man will build} I think perhaps he was not so far off. Charles

Back in the 70's I remember reading a fictional story in a magazine (Cosmo to be exact) It was about this young cosmoploitan woman. She use to take a pill that changes the color of her hair to match her outifit. There was no sex as we know it today. If you wanted children you had to apply for a license and have to be approved. That's all I remember of the story but somethings appear to be comming true...especially the big brother part.
