If you're the kind of person who eats out every night because you don't know how to cook, then a budding Silicon Valley entrepreneur believes he has found the answer - a smart cooking pan.

Interesting piece of cookware, technically advanced and, expensive. Perhaps as a gaget it would gain attention, but in reality with the lady of the house, I think perhaps as the need arrives, she will simply pluck out of the freezer, some thing frozen, toss it into the oven and thaw/cook, serve and eat.
My self? I do not enjoy to cook, but do so out of starvation or better yet, go to the canteen at work.

This reminds me of something that is a pet peeve of mine and also something that really creeps me out...pans and cooking utensils made from silicone!
I just don't understand why anyone would want to eat anything cooked in that substance! Who knows what is leaching into the food from the silicone exposed to heat? I'm strictly a stainless steel, cast iron, or glass fan!

Use the ceramic coated cast iron to do a lot of cooking.

The cast iron pan has served my self very very well in the past years to the present. Just, do not wash them, but in this stead, heat up and wipe out with paper towel, or as the case may be, hold under the hot water tap, brush out with a stiff dish brush and wipe dry. In this manner, the skillet will stay seasoned with only the need of a small bit of cooking oil for the next use.
I do like to cook with olive oil, as this requires low heat, the above is not necessary.
What is nice with the cast iron skillet, is no matter the heat, it will not warp, just smoke up the place as a reminder not to repeat the mistake.
Once and only once, whilst using an alloy pot to quick heat water on high heat. I was drinking wine and went to sleep only to awaken only too late {a very long late}. The water had long past boiled away, and the alloy pot had melted into the electric burners resulting in a great amount of smoke in the flat. It took about another bottle of wine and some time of freezing with the door and windows open to allow the flat to air out.
What a mess,,the melted metal was imbedded into the burner requiring to simply remove and toss into the trash.
I forgot about supper, but, the wine was good..
