I made this soup yesterday and embellished the recipe. Here is the way I made it. It turned out delicious !! White bean, cabbage, tomatoe sauce and hot sausage soupA delicious soup that will make you smile with comfort. Yield about 10 servings Ingredients:1 pound hot Italian sausage peeled 1 onion diced 1 small cabbage sliced and diced (I had cabbage hearts left over from making Golubki I used them) 1 14oz. can of diced tomatoe 1 15 oz. can of tomatoe sauce 1 15 oz. can of cannellini beans 1 3/4 cups chicken broth (more if desired) 1 teaspoon of oregano 1 teaspoon of basil 1 teaspoon of thyme Salt & pepper to taste Directions:Add 2 tablespoons of (Grape seed oil) to a large pot. Place on medium high heat. Peel and crumble sausage and add to pot. When sausage is browned add the onions. Cook for a few more minutes until onions are tender. Add the cabbage, canned beans, canned tomatoes and sauce, broth and spices. Stir to combine and bring to a low boil. Simmer for approximately 1 hour until cabbage is softened. (I let mine simmer on low for a few hours and it turned out great) Serve and enjoy.
