"Lobsters scream with pain when boiled" well, I'll be... you learn something new everyday... ha ha ha does that mean I can't hear my plants scream when I take cuttings from them, bury their screams when I stick 'em in the dirt to repot them?-just kidding

Interesting article, Jaga, esp. the one about baking soda in the fridge being just a marketing ploy! My mother has always religiously kept a box of baking soda in her fridge but honestly, I always wondered about that one....

Frankly, I was not very familiar with some of these myths, maybe since it refers more to American cuisine than Polish cuisine. I do not remember to keep baking soda in frigde.

I have heard it about soda, but never tried. I know some people put an old newspaper to fridges and this actually absorbs odors - I must check it myself.

Jaga Found this only of today! What an excellent cooking site and very informative. Ok, yes, I realize I am not supposed to know much of this, and I do not, but, who cares,,I like to eat. A Revelation: I was not aware to put milk/water into scrambled eggs, no, not at all. I simpled just dumped them {with out egg shells into a cup, tore them up with a fork, mixed chopped onion then into the pan they would go. Gas or Electrik, what ever. I like gas for the smell and instant on/off Serrated knife: if it will scare me, I like it Olive oil for cooking: used if for years, the Italians have the correct idea. Besides, once used, it goes onto the salad. Soak beans: who cares, it is quick to just boil them up Micro wave tea: yes yes yes, of course. 1.60 seconds, let steep for 3 minutes, then remove tea bag, bounce a few times in the sink, toss and forget in trash. Certainly a learning situation with the milk/water into scrambled eggs! Charles
