My mom grew up in a wooden house similar to this one. Gmina Spytkowice is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Wadowice County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. Its seat is the village of Spytkowice. The gmina covers an area of 47.03 square kilometres (18.2 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 9,376. There are two Spytkowice's. This one is by Zator. My mom was born here and one of my aunts still lives there and a cousin nearby. So I got to meet most of the family while there in my short 2 weeks.

Chris, I love the house! I know it is a bit romantic on my part, but I would love to live in such a place (with all the modern connivances of course!). Do you have pictures of your mom? I think I remember you posting some at one time.

Chris, Your uncle and my father are so similar in appearence. My Pop's family including him, were from the Sopocknie area of N/E Poland late1800's. Can't get over the resemblance.

Sw. Katarzyny Aleksandryjskiez Chruch. A beautiful example of Baroque architecture. They recently celebrated their 300 Year Jubilation. A glimpse inside.

Chris (Rdy...) What have I told you before about leaning verticals!! ;D They can usually be avoided by moving further back when taking the photo, or if you have a good image editor such as HP Image Editor or Picasa, you can straighten up the image. Otherwise good shots of a very beautiful church, both inside and outside. Leslie

Leslie just lean your head a bit to the right or would it be left. I did not shoot the photo it was probably some Polish guy with too much wodka and a wee bit tipsy. ;D It is a bit unnervating isn't it.
Post edit (is this better)

Holly I am guessing my mom did but she has no recollection of it when my aunt recently sent me the 300 yr Jubilation book of Sw. K. A. My Aunt Ludwicka is a member and it is not far from her home. My list is growing of things to see when I get to revisit there.
