Great Pictures!
Both parts of the name stem from "biel" or "biała", which means "white"!

Great Pictures! Both parts of the name stem from "biel" or "biała", which means "white"! The current town is created by merging two towns Bielso and Biala. Yes you are correct that both mean white. Here is a litttle video of the town (unfortunately for those that do not understand it is narrated in Polish) be patient it may take a minute to load www.um.bielsko.pl/bb/dzialy/turystyka/index.jsp?var=film
