Well folks, here we are on turkey day with all the extra calories that we need. Folks notice the Polish pottery that makes up the setting. My wife's pride and joy. She has been collecting for a while.
The turkey center piece is made with cheese, sausage and crackers. The dip is made with our own horseradish, herbs and sour cream, the pickles are our own spicy Polish dills, our own pickled beets, stuffed mushroom caps and a host of other goodies. In this image you see olives on the left and our own bread and butter pickles. The refreshment is Macallan Scotch, ice and water. I don't know if anyone can see but, the green in the table cloth matches the green in the Polish pottery and the wine colored place setting matches the peacock eye dots and the gold of the napkins matches a color in the setting. All color coordinated. Now the bird had some serious excavations done at this time. There I am in all my ancient glory. Awaiting a new wine I bought. It was 'Sweet Pineapple' and both bottles went quickly. It was perfect for this bird dinner. Here you see my beautiful wife of 47 years, a friend who is a visiting nurse and she stays with us and her brother.

J.J.
What a lovely table setting and what a grand meal just waiting to be eaten, you are surely blessed on all accounts. Your table, I know you described as Polish, but with the maple leaf setting, it sure has the appearance of Canadian.
The wine sounds very good and a bit unusual, the scotch though, no matter the day, two glasses of that and who cares...
Thank you for your thoughtful sharing
Karl

John,
I agree with Karl, you had a lovely table with Polish pottery. I especially liked cheese and sausages arranged like a turkey!
We also had a Polish-American Thanksgiving with John, my husband, preparing turkey and then - there was plenty of other dishes, Two Polish families and one American one + one British student.

Jaga, You tell your husband that he and I are very famous in this country. Every house has a room named after us. On another note, the new bean pot that I bought for my wife has arrived. It is 3.5 quarts in size and it is perfect for making baked beans. We will be making traditional New England style baked beans for Sunday. Normally this is done on Saturday but it arrived on Saturday. Will let you know how they come out in the new 'Polish Bean Pot' .

Thank you for your thoughtful sharing Karl Karl, you are correct that the maple leaf is a symbol of Canada but that's not all of it. Here in New Hampshire we have maple trees. My back yard has maple trees and to us the symbol is to depict the fall season.

Jaga, The new bean pot worked out beautifully. The beans came out really delicious. I don't know if you have noticed but the item is nothing more than a soup tureen with a new top.
