J.J.
Yes, how soon to forget, this was the attack by the forces of Imperial Japan upon the American fleet and base at Pearl Harbour Hawaii. Shortly there after, to enter the war against the Forces of Imperial Japan and shortly there after, to enter the war in Europe against Germany in support of Great Britain.
Or, perhaps my self should not have responded in respect to both the dead and the living.

The final punishment was extreme
John,
It may surprise you, but there are a few Dutchmen who supported the use of the A-bomb in Japan. European Dutch and Indo-European Dutch citizens of the Japanese camps in the Dutch East Indies (or Netherlands East-Indies), of the women camps, and the man and boy camps over there. If the war had lasted longer they said, they wouldn't have survived the war. The bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki saved their lives in their point of view. Many Indo-Europeans still hold strong anti-Japanese views due to their experiences during the Second World war in Indonesia. Many Dutch people, Indo-Europeans and Javanese slave labourers died due to the occupation powers of the Japanese in Indonesia (back then the Dutch East Indies).
Cheers, Pieter
