Dear friends,
Last two monrths were very exhausting, but inspiring months with the muncipality elections. Our local and most direct democracy. 16 parties participated in these elections so last weeks I had days I worked 14 to 16 hours a day. I made viceo's with political parties, of most of the political parties in the munclipality we made look backs on how they looked back on that city council period 2014-2018, we asked them what they did good and what they did wrong. I was very proud of our TV debate with all the parties, which was a major achievement of RTV-Arnhem. I had contacts with people ranging from an ultra-rightwing Neo-Nazi (sorry Peoples Nationalist) party on one side to the leftwing Socialists, Arnhem1, leftwing migrant Party Denk Verenigd Arnhem. And inbetween them the Conservative liberals, christian democrats, Labour party and the Democrats (D66) and Greenleft. GreenLeft (GroenLinks) was the big winner of this elections and the Socialist Party (SP) the big loser.
The rightwing Populist Freedom Party of Geert Wilders entered the Arnhem city council for the first time with 2 seats.
Cheers, Pieter

The definate election results my colleagues made on my free day Friday.
You see happy people (the winners), you see sad people (the losers) and you see tired people, both winners and losers. It was a tough battle, democracy in full work, a democracy which is more close to the citizens, because it it local democracy.

Day after day we went to debates. This is my video about the debate of the Gelderlander newspaper.
This is a video I filmed and edited about the leftwing parties and leftwing cooperation or not
The big loser (the bold guy, SP aldermen, socialist) wants leftwing cooperation, the GreenLeft and Labour Blond party leaders are sceptic. They say that the Socialists boycotted all their social plans and motions last 4 years. The other parties blamed the Socialists to be arrogant and power politicians.

The Dutch Prime minister also visited the Netherlands to support his local Arnhem branch of the VVD
We were there and made an interview with him.

RTV Arnhem is very fortunante to have you for the work you do. It is not just the physical but also the mental taxing of your energy in creating the situation to make it news worthy but the requirement to fit it in to the criteria set forth by the company.
I would not be surprised if other similar news agencies have not been knocking on your door to work for them. For the quality of your results speaks in self.

Dear Karl,
Thank you for the positive taxation of my work. I feel very honored by your words.
There is a lot of fierce competition in my branch of work and profession.
Cheers, Pieter

Dear friends/fellow Forum members,
My time on the Forum will stay limited, because Television work demands a lot for me. I am working on a ballance between work and private time, because some coleagues, familymembers and friends believe I work to hard. It is true that my nature is being a 'workaholic', I am addicted to work. So certain concerns of these people are justifiable and right. But fact is that it is the nature of the being who I am. I love investigative journalism. I love making television (Local tv), I love the local politics (am fond of the work Arnhem councilmembers do and am fond of these councilmembers of all the 12 political parties in the Arnhem city council. I know them well and respect their work for Arnhem tremendously). I also know the major and alderman of Arnhem well.
I am a news junkie, am fond of the Arnhem cultural work, fine art (contemporary art) in Arnhen, the world of entrepeneurs and horeca in Arnhem. We start with new camera's and new protocols, structure and thus workmethods at RTV-Arnhem. So, I will be checking this Forum regularly and posting, but maybe less frequently.
Cheers, Pieter

There are so many worth while things to do in life we must make some tough decisions, and I expect by reducing time and effort on this forum - which has been prodigious - you are giving up something you enjoy. May you continue to find enjoyment and fulfillment! Kai

Pieter,
I understand you. You need to take care of yourself, but remember that you can always count on us here. My life is also very hectic with one exception. I am investing my time in sciences, nuclear engineering, writing articles, and I really have very limited time to invest in what is going on in politics... especially since the politics is so dirty. So, I count on you guys to keep me updated

Pieter
This was very gracious of you to share your working photo whilst at the Arnhem City Council Interview. For in the photo completely describes what you do and the responsibility of your work.
The equipment you work with is by appearance, very modern and compact. When you are in close to the subject of the interview, will the camera automatically refocus as the distance closes in or gives way in distance? Or is it required to be hand focused?
My self am curious, but the person conducting the interview, is his microphone connected directly to your digital camera? Or is it on a remote receiver/recorder for splicing at a later time whilst editing the recorded substance of Interview? Just curios in the case of some thing not right in the recorded interview for room to edit and splice in to make the recording correct? Or would that bring out the possibility of miss syncing the voice with the lips over electronically recording audio with visual?
