we finally made it to Boston. We almost missed the firs flight fro Idaho Falls since the taxi which I ordered yeserday never showed up. I had to calll again and then... the old grandpa came after 20 minutes. He was driving so slow to the airport that we almost missed the first flight to SLC.
But I am impressed by Delta service. They gave us even some food, twice dring 4 hours flight! John took United and they did not give them any food at all!
Boston is a beautiful city. It is very different than any other American city I saw before. It had definitivly the European flavor

I am happy to hear you are all safe in Boston. It sounds of a happy flight inspite of that slow old goat of man {diese langsame alte Ziege eines Mannes} to have provided you with such tension.
Even though I do hate to fly, Delta was very good in past, it would sound that they have not changed.
I think you will have fun in Boston, it sounds of a very interesting city.

Thank you Chris!
For this was very thoughtful of you to do so. I am very pleasantly surprised with Boston, for it is a very charming modern city with a mix of the new, with the old as flavour. Also noticed, was a very human touch with the {Family Statue and Child Fountain} provided by {Luciano}.
Some of the names of providers seem as of French Canadian, would it be that Boston is populated by a high mix of these people?
A confession though, I was to look into my mirror to see what stupid looked like, for I was thinking Boston was in Main. Now I find out it is in {Massachusetts}, the red of my face is not sun-burn, it is embarrassment.

Charles not sure what you mean by vendors. Canada is right above us (Montreal and Quebec) and we always have many Canadian tourists visiting. The VT site is a travel photo sharing site from people all over the world. All these fotos taken by tourists sharing.
Boston is in Mass. indeed. Think of Paul Revere riding through the town yelling the Red Coats are coming!!!!

Think of Paul Revere riding through the town yelling the Red Coats are coming!!!! Oh yes, the Paul Revere! We studied in school of the Americans revolution against the British Common wealth. I think this was for their freedom to form their own constitution.. It is so funny when you say {The Red Coats are Coming} in my mind, I think of the RCMP {Canadian} and on 1st impulse, think jeepers, that is the police! I think perhaps I was not very good with correct communication on use of word {Provider}. What I meant was: the people providing the photographs of Boston. Whilst reading their names with their photo, some seemed to be possible French Canadian. But, it is nothing... Charles

I hope to meet with Suzanne on Sunday Hope that our kids can play She would be so nice to come to Boston. We had a great time today, I bought a so called Boston card for 5 days, it is expensive but it includes lots of attractions so that we do not need to worry to buy tickets etc. We had a bus city tour, which was good for Ela since she does not like long walks. We saw many districts of Boston on the tour, Cambridge with Harward an MIT, Beacon Hill etc. It allows to see a lot in a short time. We were also in 45 minutes Constitution criuse, we also saw acquarium here. We also walked around where we live, Boston just like my hometown Krakow is a city where one can see plenty of young people, students. It is a more elegant city than New York. It is European in style (the houses looks like the one in Paris), but it also have a taste of American metropolitan city with its skyscrapers, gardens on the roofs etc

The most amazing for me where the headquarters of the Christian Science Church with the reflecting pool. It was just so strange Christian science church is not th same as scientology. They have an interesting newspaper "Christian Science Monitor" but I was unaware of their... financial situation which seems to be excellent since they can afford headquarters in the middle of Boston: www.theinsider.com/Boston/attractions/2christi.htm

Hi Jaga - glad you are having an interesting and enjoyable time! My Lithuanian girlfriend stopped in Boston ten years ago on her way back to Lithuania an she an her daughter enjoyed it as much as you seem to be doing. They had time between flights to take the harbor cruise, and perhaps th bus tour of th city as well. They also thought it was the most European city they had seen in America. They also thought it was much more civilized than Anchorage!
I first visited the city when I went there for a meeting perhaps four years ago. I was careful to go in on Saturday to avoid th traffic - and it was jammed to the limits with cars. The Big Dig was still in progress and the open freeway was a giant parking lot.
I also took the Christian Science tour, as their newspaper Christian Science Monitor is quite respected for in depth and straight reporting. It was interesting to hear their history for the first time, but I did not come away a convert. No, I never considered them extremists, as the Germans rate Scientology as a mind-control cult (which I have NOT seen reported in the US press) They were started by Mary Eddy Baker - whoops - Mary Baker Eddy - an extremely intelligent woman who combined fundamental Christianity with science of the day. if my memory serves well. Faith is quite similar to ethnicity, which is also perhaps faith based. Talking with some fundamental christians up in Alaska they pulled ht usual mind trick of saying 'I am not sure Cristian Scientists are truly Christian'. I sometimes wonder that about other fundamentalist who go off on some biblical tangent! Scietology was founded by a science fiction writer. I used to enjoy science fiction, but would rather follow Robert Heinlien in theology than L Ron Hubbard. I never bothered with any of his science fiction either.
Enjoy the discoveries!
Kai

Charles Hi Charles, Actually, I live in the western suburbs of Boston, but am looking forward to coming into town on Sunday to meet with Jaga, and will share some good photos. I don't get into Boston proper very much, as it's about 40 minutes or so from my home, but I'm looking forward to it.
