Jaga As well known, Germany is an industrial export economy, and with this, a great consumer of uninterruptible user of earth gas. If to pass over the sovereign state of Poland, would increase the cost considerable with paying out a levied transport fee to the Polish Government. With this though, is the extreme risk of interference for what ever reason of earth gas passage blockage or used as a threat rather for again, for what ever reason. The American Trump, wishes for another reason that being commercial. He wishes to sell energy with shipping transport which is unacceptable in both cost and shipping. With also the risk from the Americans to block of or use their energy as a political manner of forcing Germany to agree to what ever is in their of tricks. So you see, both the Americans and Poland may not be trusted with their words or actions in the manner of this life blood of energy. www.forbes.com/sites/davekeating/2018/09/05/as-of-today-russias-controversial-nord-stream-2-pipeline-is-already-underwater/#1ccbea3c1e1cFor not of complicating the primary subject of Polish objections of currant pipe line construction. But, my self would be negligent if not to mention of the following. A time back, the Americans as with the Saudies and of course, Israel, in conjunction with long runnning objections against Iran. Nixed a proposed earth gas and petroleum pipe for shipping their energy products to European customers. This would have been a very welcomed addition as complimenting energy supplies from Russian sources. But, as we all know, The Americans used their clout in conjunction with both the Saudis and Israeli long standing objections to Iran to place as stoppage against any construction to such a pipe{s}. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Iraq%E2%80%93Syria_pipelineWhat Prague has to say: www.radio.cz/en/section/marketplace/controversial-russian-gas-pipeline-makes-czech-progressKarl

Karl,
thanks for your expertise as an expert on this subject. I read an article from Forbes about the pipeline. I agree that this is becoming a political issue and Poland is here to get some profits. I was susprised to read that only less than 5% of Germany oil comes from Russia.
I hope the pipe constructions will be finished soon and it will serve Germnay well.
