www.vpro.nl/buitenhof/kijk/afleveringen/2019/Buitenhof-24-maart-2019.htmlClick on the Huawei video and you can hear the english language interview with Pete Hoekstra.
If the Netherlands goes to work with the Chinese tech company Huawei for the construction of a 5G network, this entails unacceptable security risks, warns US ambassador to the Netherlands Pete Hoekstra. Can we make the switch to super fast internet without the Chinese tech giant? Is Huawei really that dangerous? Or is Europe becoming a pawn in the power struggle between the US and China? In Buitenhof: Pete Hoekstra, US ambassador to the Netherlands.

Pieter
Strictly as a personal opinion, my self would consider Huawei as an additional asset to use but not to depend upon. With this, to be locked out of sensative equipment that is prone to leaked out Federal and Military information.

Pieter I see and understand your reluctance to agree with my previous reply, and that is ok and good. For in this manner we then have the opportunity to expand upon the subject at hand, then with additional material obtained, to then expand upon our learning. I was to view Buitenhof and with this, that of replies and what The Honorable Mr. Hoekstra was to reply, unfortunately do not understand spoken Dutch, but as a Germanic language do understand some written words. At present, there is a delay in Germany rather to accept or reject acceptance of The Huawei expanded high speed equipment. For at present, yes it is very fast and effecient, but then Huawei is not the only pebble on the beach. For there are several other manufactures that are working on this simular capable equipment that would operate at simular speed. In short past, there has been some very expensive dis-agreements with The American provider of Windows programmes. But, this is not a long standing issue that is not unsolvable. With the argument that Europe would become a Chinese Pawn with the acceptance of Huawei, does not hold water very well, for we are stuck with the American presence upon German soil, in as well as acceptance of Poland to American wishes. The American presence upon Europe has been and will be for many many years to come. The thing about such electronic technology such as we are speaking of high speed 5G, will not be alone but for a short time. For once the high point of advancement has been reached, then this sets the standard to be beaten with better research and development. In short, Huawei is a big fish in the pond, but this means not that other fish will not grow as big and possibly larger. For little fish are eaten by bigger fish and then eaten by even larger fish. www.cnbc.com/2019/02/19/germany-says-its-not-ready-to-bar-huawei-in-potential-us-snub.htmlKarl
