My self? I am a very active person, my inside motor very seldom idles, so as to settle my nerves.
Sorry Pieter...

Just to share with you, bit that has taken a toll upon my self in memories and the life that was. For I was of years 8 of 1948 and as so, do remember this music song from our battery receiver left after departure of our military.
We received the military signals from England military radio. For as fault of memory, I am unable to recall the exact year of this radio signal of music. But, I do recall very well, the feelings I received and that what which was to instill in my self, the will to over come. Perhaps silly at present to others. For my self, the will to live...

J.J. What a wonderful selection! Lilli Palmer,,yes of course to have heard this as sung by her. She was a very successful motion picture actress in many films. She was very well noted for her gentle and quite manner. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilli_PalmerWhat a sensitive and nostalgic song though as sung by this artist... Karl

An electronic song for John (JJ) Pieter. This generated some memories that I didn't foresee. The 1st one, I don't believe I've seen it before. Full Metal Jacket sound tract is very familiar. I watch the movie often as it depicts my experiences more closely than others.

Yes, he is very good John. Actually one of my Jazz favorites. I like his smooth Old school jazz. He is a great trumpet player. Brilliant actually. I love his music. He belongs to the American Jazz royalty although he isn't called Lord, king, Barron, Earl, count, duke or Prince. Thanks JJ! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz_royalty

Pieter, I know that you like this new age electronic music. I, on the other hand, have never been able to adopt it ever since it turned to 'metal and worse' type music.
I personally have become to like a very specific genre of music. I don't know if I have evolved or devolved. But the following is a personal selection of some of which I listen to all the time.
Maria Callas "Quando m`en vo`" La Bohème
Maria Callas Opera Arias : Tosca, I Vespri Siciliani, La Boheme, La Traviata, Turandot & many more

There is nothing wrong with your musical taste and musical personal development. I have to admid that classical music and what we call 'lichte muziek' (light music) in the sense of singer songwriter music and more traditional musical music with just drums, bass and electric guitar or normal guitar without electronics, fascinates me too. I love singers of various languages and composers, like these:

For me Bach is the most beautiful and intense music I know. Maybe more important to me than all the electronic stuf I posted here. Our base as Europeans is always classical baroque and romantic music and folk music. The electronic music came after that in the second half of the 20th century and 21th century. Often very beautiful electronic music or pop and rock music and even jazz music have classical roots. If you listen to Oscar Peterson, you hear a lot of classical influences.
This Nathalie Stutzmann has such a great voice and understanding of Bach's intention with Aria Erbarme dich, mein Gott, um meiner Zähren Willen! (alto), the singer has to go deep into the rather simple text, and sing it with great passion, understanding of the meaning of it, and intention to sing it correct. It's a deep spiritual call to God, the Lord, the human suffering for God!
Erbarme dich, Mein Gott, Um meiner Zähren willen Schaue hier, Herz und Auge weint vor dir Bitterlich.
Another very beautiful version:
In some sense Bach even resenotates to our christian heritage, because his Mathew Passion, St John Passion are religious pieces with a great beauty, deep faith and spirituality. I like that Lutheran German genious, because his music is great and has influenced a lot of modern music.
