I'm sorry I have not been around in a while. I kept thinking I'd have all this free time as school wound down and summer came along, but that was not the case. Prom, graduation, long work weeks, and general business kept getting in the way. Finally, college began. I decided on Clemson University in South Carolina. It's about $26,000 a year (for everything) since I am an out of state student, but it's definitely worth it so far. I was also checking out the Study Abroad Fair today and the school offers a semester in Moscow and the only cost to me is tuition (which might be reduced because of the program) and food while the school covers housing and the cost of the trip. I'm really considering this because I would be able to fulfill my foreign language credit and because I'd get to meet some new people, especially Russian college students. I'll try to stop in a bit more often and partake in some of the discussions. Here are some pictures for anyone interested about the past few months of my life. Hi, Hussar, it's so nice to hear from you I have heard the name of your school so I guess it must be pretty good - I don't know many universities apart from Harvard, Yale and MIT Congratulations on your haircut - I must suggest my husband get a similar one Why don't you try a Polish college? Isn't there anything interesting?

Hi Hussar, It's always nice to hear from old forum folks! The high-school-to-college transition is a big one in life, but it looks as if you've done it quite smoothly. Glad to hear you are enjoying Clemson and I hope you hear about some great opportunities at the study abroad fair. Best of luck in the rest of your freshman year!

I would still like to go to Poland, it's just that it'll take a bit more work. The other issue with Poland is that my school only offers Poland through 3rd parties. Those 3rd parties have rules that include a 3.0 GPA and at least one year completed in college. If it were not for the time requirement, I would sign up. Most of the programs take place in Krakow at the Jagiellonian University which I would like to go to. That might be something I'll pursue in my sophomore or or junior year of college.
