The Climate change movement in the Netherlands is massive and gets support from pupils of Highschools, students of the vocational universities and universities and from unions and leftwing political parties like GreenLeft, the Party for Animals, the Labour Party and the Socialist Party (SP). This leftist cooperation you see in several issues. Also in social protests for higher wages, better education, Pro Palestinian/Free Palestine demonstrations, anti-racist/anti-fascist/anti-xenophobia demonstrations you see this coalition. The Climate change movement also gets support from organisations like Milieudefensie (Environmental Defense) and Greenpeace.

Pieter
These simular situations have been coming upon news of late, the question that of course is revalent to the event. Have these protesters provided answers over questions that are the common issue?

Pieter These simular situations have been coming upon news of late, the question that of course is revalent to the event. Have these protesters provided answers over questions that are the common issue? Karl That is quite an easy question to pose, Karl, but should be considered in light of the choices and non-choices made already by our politicians. Alternative solutions have been proposed, and I believe the protesters likely favor a more activist response. Specifically, in place of talking of cleanup of our act / of action by 2050, a presentation of a nuts-and-bolts solution with timeline for implementation is what is being desired. In cases like this a deeper look into what is "being done" and what other programs can be chosen from is in order. Then of course there are things that can be protested (e.g. "violence against women") that have no clear cut "get an end to it" solution. But it is still worth protesting and drawing attention to the problems of this world. Our politicians are lazy and lack courage. Kai
