How so interesting of this presentation you have brought to light of fake facades in Paris. My self had no idea this existed until your artical. It has been so many years since my self was in Paris, it was refreshing to see the currant photos of the city..
The French do as they most always do, make the mundane in to some thing else of beauty..

I was in Paris in 1986 and 1994 and short stops later on. I agree with Karl that the French have an esthetic understanding how a street should look like and mascarade an ugly fascade or a empty space in a street. Most Latin peoples have that. Italians, French, Spanish and Portuguese people. We Norterners, and Central- and Easterm-European lack that esthetic understanding. We are more indifferent and let ugly constructions, entrences or exist exist.
That is probably why we love Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon and Rome so much.
