Normally Amsterdam a crowded city, with millions of tourists every year. Amsterdam people who hate the tourist masses (which are there all year long), hate the sticky long stay Air B&B idiots (endless partying, drugs using, alcoholic Brits, Italians, French, Spanish people, Americans and other folks, you have them, who stay for weeks and sometimes months) have an empty city for themselves now. But the situation is of course grave, because everything is closed and this will have huge repercutions for the city, it's horeca sector, it's stock market, it's banks, it's shops, it's retailstores, it's fashion industry, it's entertainment companies, the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the Amsterdam port, the Cruise ship Industry (Holland America Line and others), the flower business, the import & export companies, the cab (Taxi) drivers, the schools (teachers), universities (professors), the pupils and students, health care in the city, the elderly care and the Amsterdam economy in general. Being a Ghost city for too long is devastating.

Pieter
There was a picture somewhere in the US media that in Amsterdam there are long lines to buy a pot now, since people are afraid that they would not be able to buy it later on.

Normally you American or other European tourists are easy targets for pick pockets
Gangs of Moroccans, Algerians, Tunesians, Romanians, Bulgarians and others rob tourists, Dutch day tourists and naïve Amsterdam people.
