The pool of seasonal help has always been a concern with the nature of crop harvest and available help with farmers. For time is in the first a helping hand, but with the short time of harvest time is of the essence for both the yearly cost of simply all things from fuel, living expense, equipment repair and replacement then upon the season of harvesting, the cost of labour, fuel and temporary storage of the crop harvest.
For as with the above, comes the market and prices in whole sale to various distribution firms that pay first the producers, then what it takes for preporation for the most part, preporation and cleaning of produce for resale to whole sale firms then to the various distribution centres for then then various retailers to the consumers.
There is a high risk dependent upon the harvested crop as to shelf life and storage. For cold storage, apples and potatoes are very much simular in handling care for bruises and cold storage temporatures, whilst other fruits and vegetables require different levels of care and storage before final distribution to the consumer.
