Right is insisting that the economy needs to be reopen. They cared about 4 guys dead in Benghazi when Hillary was a head of state, but now they don't care foo 20 th of dead americans. O'reilly stated that people who die are already with one hand in the grave... so there is a dichotomy on the right. Trump uses the press conference to promote himself and also put the emphasis on opening of the economy. I understand his concerns, but he thinks that the virus would listen to him.
At least pres. Bush had good intentions when he talked about potential epidemy

Jaga,
I have to say that I completely agree with you Jaga. But Bannon has some points. But I am critical towards all sides in this crisis. In Europe the right, the centre (the middle, the radical centre) and the left have no solutions. On positive thing is that people cooperate more and that there is less division. It is no time for political quarrels. It is time to deal with this health care crisis, to manage the production of health care products (masques, respirators, hygienic materials), to create alternative models for new 1,5 meter distance economies (with more home work), think about Financial solutions with the central banks, the treasuries, the ministries of Economical-, Financial-, Social-, Energy-, Internal-, Security-, Housing- and Legal affairs, the Employers organisations, the Trade Unions, the Chambers of commerce, the commercial banks, the multi nationals and sensible billionaires and millionaires who could do strategic investments, finance projects and be conscious stoke brokers.
Human life, safety, security, improvement of health care, health care for all, thinking about employment and income for people and thinking about a balance between social isolation and the necessary economical activity is important. A recession is coming at us followed by a deep recession, a huge financial crisis, inflation, and mass unemployment. This is a great concern for citizens, doctors and nurses (how long can they carry the burden of this crisis?), politicians, central bankers, presidents and prime ministers and ministers of financial affairs and economical affairs. After corona we will face new problems. Stephen Kevin Bannon is right about the fact that "We have an economic inferno coming at us." You don't have to be rightwing to acknowledge that fact.
Cheers, Pieter
