Police arrest 20 youths in The Hague in third night of disturbancesThe Hague police have arrested 20 more youngsters in a third night of disturbances in the Schilderswijk district of the city. As on Wednesday, large groups of youths had gathered in the area, south of the city centre, and threw eggs and fireworks at police when told to disperse. Mayor Jan van Zanen had visited the neighbourhood earlier in the day to show his support for locals, and police and residents began their own patrols in an effort to nip any trouble in the bud. However, the problems began around 11pm, forcing the mayor to invoke his emergency powers and it took several hours before calm was restored, local media reported.

In violence between rival Drill Hip Hop gangs from Rotterdam and Amsterdam one rapper was killed at the beach of Scheveningen near The Hague.
The stabbing at the Scheveningen pier on Monday, that left a 19-year-old man from Rotterdam dead, "almost certainly" stemmed from a heated conflict between Rotterdam drill rap group Blacka 24 and Amsterdam-Zuid drill rap group 73 De Pijp, insiders told the Amsterdam Newspaper Het Parool.
So far the police would not say anything about the identity of the 19-year-old victim, or the two suspects arrested in connection with his death. According to Het Parool, videos on social media show a young man wearing a 73 De Pijp shirt with a firearm, seemingly firing shots, at the Scheveningen pier, while his friend stabbed the victim a little way away.
The stabbing on Monday was not the first confrontation between the two drill rap groups, the newspaper wrote. The two groups have been fighting online for some time, and they had a physical confrontation in Scheveningen on Sunday. Images on social media showed a young man being beaten up in Scheveningen on Sunday, and the Rotterdam group fleeing from the Amsterdam group, according to the newspaper. A new fight was arranged for Monday. And 19-year-old "Chuhu" was stabbed to death.
The violence between different drill rap groups has been a major concern for the Dutch authorities for some time. Amsterdam police chief Frank Paauw repeatedly raised concerns about these groups of young people, immediately repaying violence with violence, in September last year following a string of violent incidents in Amsterdam Zuidoost (South-East).

Drill is a style of trap music that originated in the South Side of Chicago in the early 2010s. It is defined by its dark, violent, nihilistic lyrical content and ominous trap-influenced beats.
Drill progressed into the American mainstream in mid-2012 following the success of rappers and producers like Young Chop, Chief Keef, Lil Durk, Fredo Santana, SD and Lil Reese, who had many local fans and a significant Internet presence. Media attention and the signing of drill musicians to major labels followed. Artists within the genre have been noted for their style of lyricism and association with crime in Chicago.
