Covid cases in Poland go up dramatically for the last 2-3 weeks. Now over 300 people die per day, some directly on Covid (about 15%), majority for Covid mixed with other conditions. This is quite a lot considering that the average amount of people dying per day is 1000 in Poland if there is no pandemia.
My middle brother has Covid. He is OK and at home but he has a fever, which is going away, but he started coughing. He does not really has any other underlying conditions so I hope he would be OK, but I worry. He is a chemist, working with clients a lot, he does not know exactly how he caught it.

Jaga,
I hope your broter will get better. Did he had a good health before he caught Covid 19. Keep us informed. People with contact professions take greater risks than people who can work at home. My job takes some risks too. I have to connected to people for ny local news job, but use materials to keep some distance during interviews.
Cheers, Pieter

Pieter, Karl, thanks for your concerns. Pieter's work is also prone to getting covid. Be careful! My brother writes me every day, but he did not tell me in the beginning all the details. He is still coughing and is weak. He has one more week of sick leave. Coughing is really bad with this condition. At least the fever is gone

The best friend of my mother, a lady over 90 years old died on Covid two days ago (Dec29-30). She was faible, still Covid contributed. She was already isolated for many months but in nursing homes it seem impossible to keep people safe.

Karl, my mother's friend, 92 in Poland, died just before New Year on Covid related causes. She was old and faible but still, Covid prevailed. She was not allowed to see her family for many months, but somebody brought Covid to this nursing home anyways.

Jaga
It was good of you to update us on your brother and the aged lady friend of your mother. Even though of years 92, it would have seemed she had more time to live if not for this virus that caused her death. In her life time, think of all she has experienced and remembers...

Jaga,
This Covid 19 pandemic (the Corona virus) has cause some inhumane and sad moments the past 8 months. It is very sad that your mothers 92 years old friend could not see her family for many months. This virus forces many elder people to isolation and loneliness. It is deeply sad that this Polish woman had to die this way. Many old people in other European, North American and other countries followed her example. Let's hope that the Covid 19 virus and it's Briitsh and South-African offspring will fade away and die out in 2021 and 2022. I hope that your my mother's friend had decent nurses, doctors and other care takers.
Cheers, Pieter

Hello Karl, yes, this lady had a long life and interesting and even without Covid she might die soon. It is just a pity since for the last many months she was so ilozated in the nursing home, still she was infected and she died, also quite isolated. Even though of years 92, it would have seemed she had more time to live if not for this virus that caused her death. In her life time, think of all she has experienced and remembers... Karl

we have something to celebrate. Covid cases are getting down in the US. It is definitively going down the curve due to vaccinations. The restrictions in Idaho are less, we don't need to use masks on the streets anymore.

The restrictions in Idaho are less, we don't need to use masks on the streets anymore. Jaga This must be good news to most every one with both good news of no mask requirement and Covid cases going down.. We are not so fortunant for masks are still required and for some reason when upon attending to some required {against starving} to do some shopping at the grocery store, for some reason seem to forget my mask. This then once to enter the street, creates some very nasty stares then upon entering one of two stores in our area, one or the other counter ladies first places her hand over her eyes, then dashes over with a mask to then place over the required face of mine, smiles, not again... Not sure if this is out of friendly or for the reason I always leave a nice tip to them. One lady wears a strange smell of perfume, not sure what it is, but sure enjoy it when she is the one bringing the requried mask, and she knows I am a married man so it is just in fun.. Karl
