Blue Monday is the name given to a day in January (typically the third Monday of the month) said by a UK travel company, Sky Travel, to be the most depressing day of the year. The concept was first published in a 2005 press release from the company, which claimed to have calculated the date using an "equation". It takes into account weather conditions and thus only applies to the Northern Hemisphere.
The idea is considered pseudoscience, with its formula derided by scientists as nonsensical.

Personally my self do consider a Blue Monday as non-sense, but it is real to many good people and this makes it real, at least to them as effected. For it is not realistic to compare the feelings and effects of others with my own self. But then, how could these poor souls survive in our climate with the North seas wind and rain. In Denmark, if you do not like the weather, simply wait 30 minutes for a change, as most likely the same in Pieters world, for we both are of the same sea coast conditions

Karl,
Indeed like you stated; In Denmark and the Netherlands, if you do not like the weather, simply wait 30 minutes for a change, because both Denmark and the Netherlands are of the same sea coast conditions. I can get a bit off my grid of the long wet cold periods in the Netherlands though. Cold rains, somber weather, a little light. Not much of these 30 minutes changes lately Karl.
Cheers, Pieter

Perhaps my self did over state the weather changes at 30 minutes change, but then it has a tendency to change at the wrong time. This in past was a cause as a great deal iritation to me, for to plan some thing as it seems to be sun and nice weather for the following day, and then, the darn wind would come up and then rain. Even a bit of temper, with foot stomping would not change any thing, just made me feel better for the moment.

Karl,
Of course I have the same experience in the Netherlands. Sun, rain, wind, quiet weather and sun again and then suddenly storm, hail, lightning and heavy rainfall can occur in one day.
That’s why we love Southern France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and the Canary Islamds, Ibiza and Majorca so much.
Groet, Pieter

Yes, weather in Europe is challenging, especially in Western Europe. I will always remember Frankfurt in the rain or at least a drizzle. But as Pieter said, the weather is changing fast
