I have heard of these camps for German war prisoner camps but was not fortunate to visit one. Even though those years were the war years between The United States and Germany, these war prisoners were well cared for and treated well. It is a tribute to the Americans sense of fairness, for they made friends in the stead of creating enemies.

Thank you for your contribution of presenting the story of Camp Stark. I did find it very interesting and realistic with the reaction of the towns people with the enemy brought in to their door step. The work set out for these prisoners was harsh in the cold of winter, but much better then just sitting about in a prison building...
