Singing Dutch Fishermen from the Fishing town Urk
Dutch Fisherman are often very religious Protestant (Urk/Vlissingen) or Roman Catholic (Volendam) people. The church plays an important role in their lives. During the week the fisherman are often 6 days at sea, on Sundays Fishermen go to church. In strict communities they go to church 3 times on Sunday. Their music and songs are most often religious. Psalms or other songs. The girls, boys and men wear the typical Urk Fishermen cloths, these fishermen and women wear for many generations.
Translation video; "Gods love for us says so much. If you see that he sacrificed the life of his son for us. Ehh--, if you look how much we love our children, you wouldn't sacrifice for what ever cause ever, but God did sacrifice his son for us. So when you listen in that context to the songs, sing the songs yourself, then you experience yourself how great Gods love for us is." One man to the other: "Nico, do you know what I ask myself sometimes? If we love our children that much, how much will God love us?' The other man looks the other way, with some emotion and looks as if he thinks. The Urk Fishermen's chorus starts singing.

Volendam Fishing town popular band BZN (In the Netherlands, Belgium and in South Africa)This song was donated for saving the elephant, a project in Kenia. BZN: Jan Keizer, Carola Smit, Dick plat, Dirk van der Horst, Jan Tuijp and Jack Veerman.BZN (Band Zonder Naam; Dutch for "Band Without Name") was a successful Dutch pop group that had a string of hits from 1966 to 2007 on. Combining high productivity and a disciplined work ethic with an exceptionally good feeling for what their audience liked, the band achieved a thirty-year music chart presence in the Netherlands, to an extent comparable to that of Cliff Richard in the United Kingdom, and rewarded by likely record-breaking numbers of platinum certifications for their albums.
BZN recorded mostly in English and French, but also had success with material in Dutch and German.Piet Veerman (born 1 March 1943) is a Dutch pop musician. From 1964 to 1985 he was a guitarist and singer for The Cats, and since 1968 the lead singer for all the singles of this band. He released a first solo album in 1975 but started his solo career definitely in 1987 after The Cats broke up for the last time. During his career, Veerman received more than thirty gold records. Veerman was born in the fishing village of Volendam. His father played many instruments, like recorder, harmonica, guitar, banjo and sitar, and taught his son to play music. His mother was a painter and taught her son to paint. At an age of twelve the young Piet obtained his first guitar. At that time he didn't know if he wanted to choose art or music. Palingsound (/pɑːlɪŋsaʊnt/; lit. 'European eel sound') is the unique musical sound attributed to a subgenre of Dutch pop music called palingpop. It is sometimes used to refer to the palingpop genre as a whole. The Palingsound is a musical genre that comes from the Fishermens town Volendam in the Province of North Holland. Singers and bands of the Palingsound are often people with a background in Volendam Fishing families. The ancestors and familymembers of these musicians are fishermen. The Cats - One Way WindP.S.- You like this music or you don't. It is part of the Dutch musical history. Music made by people from Fishermen towns.
