We have had a pesky and destructive moose in the yard up here in Alaska all winter, hungry enough that he stripped the bark off of 5 trees to have something to eat. Today I got some photos of him as he wandered the yard once again, now with about 20cm of horn growing out of the sides of his head. Just a few weeks ago they were buds breaking through the skin of his head. Then at dinner tonight a momma moose and her yearling were in the neighbor's front yard to snack on the fresh growth. Poland? I never thought of moose in Poland. Bison yes, and have visited Białowieża National Park to see them and the ancient forest. Just now I ran across this map showing the range of moose in Europe: If you are interested in the source, the study is at link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s13364-016-0274-0This Polish moose (trusting Google) has a bit more antler than the moose in my side yard. Ours has a bigger hump on the front shoulders. Then this is likely what he hopes to look like to the ladies this fall:

I am sorry those moose were so hungry as to eat up the bark upon your trees and neighours, but then, it is winter and food most likely very short in the wild for these creatures so perhaps your bark may have saved their lives, who knows..
Those fellows though are sure big and at least speaking for my self, I sure would not wish to meet one in the wild and especially if he/she is having a bad day. Thinking back, I have not even seen one in a zoo.
