Wonderful images John about a time in Poland which was still untouched by the devastation of the Second World War and the hardships of Nazism, Stalinism (1945-1956) and Polish Comnunism (1945-1989). The photo's of Hans Hildenbrand (1870–1957) show the colorful life of Polish people. Their folk culture, the atmosphere of that time, people in moments of rest or togetherness of social groups in a time of hardship and poverty (the thirties were a time of poverty and huge gaps between rich and poor), the daily life of that Polish farmers, the Gorals highlanders and villagers in traditional costumes. The coulors show the colours of that time, but might be changed by the working of time (chemical reactions and processes in photo paper)?

J.J.
Thank you most kindly for sharing of these Polish photos. The photos are indeed very colourful in excellent detail as if for them to be dressed in their very finest for the photos. A very historic set of photos suitable for museum display I would only guess..
