Quite unusual situation. In Poland they also had tornadoes and there is a damage but nobody was killed like in Czech republic. You can see the video below www.cnn.com/2021/06/25/europe/czech-republic-tornado-intl/index.htmlPrague, Czech Republic (CNN)At least three people have been killed and dozens injured after a rare tornado along with tennis ball-sized hailstones hit several villages in South Moravia, in the southeast of the Czech Republic, according to regional emergency services spokeswoman Michaela Bothova. A local hospital in the town of Hodonin treated 83 injured people. Forty-five were admitted to hospital, six of whom were in serious condition, the hospital's director Antonin Tesarik said. The worst-affected area is a village of Luzice, where 100 to 120 of houses were destroyed or damaged, according to Luzice mayor Tomas Klasek. Roofs were ripped off houses and other buildings, windows were blown out, cars were overturned and debris was scattered through the streets, Reuters said. About 100 firefighters, including extra crews from Austria and Slovakia, were assisting in recovery efforts along with urban search and rescue teams, according to Minister of Interior Jan Hamacek.

Jaga,
I am sorry for the Czech people killed. I have good experience with Czechs in Prague, České Budějovice in Southern Bohemia and the Netherlands. I am sympathetic towards them and therefor have empathy for these villagers who lost their homes and loved ones. When the word Tornado comes up I usually think of the large Tornado's in the USA to be frank. In Europe they are more seldom, bu they occur in various parts of Europe as well. Nature has it's own will.
A Tornado is a small-diameter column of violently rotating air developed within a convective cloud and in contact with the ground. Tornadoes occur most often in association with thunderstorms during the spring and summer in the mid-latitudes of both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. These whirling atmospheric vortices can generate the strongest winds known on Earth: wind speeds in the range of 500 km (300 miles) per hour have been measured in extreme events. When winds of this magnitude strike a populated area, they can cause fantastic destruction and great loss of life, mainly through injuries from flying debris and collapsing structures. Most tornadoes, however, are comparatively weak events that occur in sparsely populated areas and cause minor damage.`
In the Czech vilage Lužice, in the South Moravian Region, the Tornado was extremely strong and fierce and destroyed and heavily damaged houses and caused harm. I hope that insurance, government support and quick rebuilding of the destroyed homes and renovation and reconstruction of the damaged homes will help the people of Lužice.
Cheers, Pieter

In the Netherlands strong winds, thuderstorms, Landspouts and occasionally Tornado's occur. It seems that the stormy weather is increasing due to the climate changes.

Pieter, this video from 1967 with a tornado was hard to watch with it has a very dramatic music. The tornado weather in Czech republic also went to Poland and cause extensive damage there, but nobody died.
In the US tornadoes are either in Spring or in Fall, I was surprised to hear about a tornado in the middle of summer
