Pieter
It is as you have presented, a very bad year with such flooding and related property damage with resulting deaths. It is as nature has gone wild:

John,
It keeps going on. It is a disastrous summer with all these floods. I know the area of Dinant, Ardennes mountain region, Walloon, French speaking part of Belgium. My parents had a holiday house close by there from 1978 until 2002 there. Spend many holidays in the environment of Dinant. If you have extremely heavy rainfall in the mountains, mountain paths and mountainous roads turn into rotational flows and wild river streams. Streams turn into rivers, and small village and town alleys into fast streaming streams.
Belgium is hit hard this year. 36 deaths due to the floods in the mountainous Ardennes region (close to France, Germany and South-Eastern Netherlands - the Limburg Province-).
Cheers, Pieter
