Jaga,
This is a deliberate and criminal action on the part of Belarus. This is very limited short term profit, revenge and retaliation thinking, policy making, and implementing measures by the Belarussian administration. Belarus uses it’s state airlines Belavia, it’s travel agencies, it’s consulates and embassies in Iraq (Bagdad), Lebanon (Beirut), United Arab Emirates (Dubai and Abu Dhabi), and the Belarusian Embassy in Irbil also reportedly handles visas.

There are no signs of easing in the conflict over illegal migration into the EU via Belarus. According to a report, the government of ruler Alexander Lukashenko is trying to expand flight connections from the Middle East to Minsk. Dozens of flights from Istanbul, Damascus and Dubai are set to land in the Belarusian capital every week, as reported by “Welt am Sonntag”. In addition, the government wants to open more airports for flights from the region.
Jaga, I have no doubt that Alexander Lukashenko is cooperating with Arab, Turkish, Iraqi Kurd, Iranian and other Human traffickers and Human Trafficking organisations. I do believe that Belarussians are Human Traffickers themselves. In a sinister way the Belarussians of the regime play with human lives. The journey from Bagdad, Damascus, Beirut, Dubai, Abu Dabi, Erbil, Istanbul and even Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur ) to Belarus via third countries like Azerbaijan is easy. Also in Minks life is still easy for the migrants & refugees from the Middle East, Africa and the Far East. They have hotels, motels, shopping malls, supermarkets and shops in Minsk and can buy tents, autumn and winter clothes, good shoes, cell phones and chargers and energy blocks, camping gear, food, water and etc. But what the Belarussians do not tell them is the fact that the Belarussian-Polish border land is dangerous due to the swamps and large forests and the bitter freezing cold in the winter. People can drown there, people can freeze to death there and you have wild animals like lynxes, and local bison, bear and wolf populations. But also aggressive farm dogs and other dangers.

How can any human put someone else’s life so in danger for his own benefit, egocentric satisfaction and primitive revenge thoughts and desires. These refugees & migrants are lured into a trap and stuck between the Belarussian army, border police and police on one side and the Polish army, border police, police and barbed wire fenses on the other side. I have my doubt about some economical and opportunist (selfish) migrants amongst the refugees, but feel sorry for the real refugees who fled war, civil war, terrorism, from totalitarian dictatorships. Especially these women with babies, todlers and little children and the vulnerable pre-teens and teenagers.
There is a sinister double profit propaganda going on from the Belarussian regime and the Arab bloggers from Iraq & Syria & Lebanon who say; Go to Belarus.
Children look out from a tent as migrants gather at the Belarus-Poland border near Grodno, Belarus, Monday, Nov. 8, 2021. Poland increased security at its border with Belarus, on the European Union's eastern border, after a large group of migrants in Belarus appeared to be congregating at a crossing point, officials said Monday. The development appeared to signal an escalation of a crisis that has being going on for months in which the autocratic regime of Belarus has encouraged migrants from the Middle East and elsewhere to illegally enter the European Union, at first through Lithuania and Latvia and now primarily through Poland. (Leonid Shcheglov/BelTA via AP)
These refugees and migrants have to understand Europe. We have had mass migration and mass migrant waves since the Second World War, in the forties (the Heimatvertriebenen, the Germans that were kicked out of Silesia, Poznań, Wrocław -which was the German city Breslau-, Szczecin and the Poles that were kicked out of Vilnius -Wilno-, Grodno and Lwów (today Lviv in Ukraine, the German, Austrian & Dutch name for the city is Lemberg), and the discplaced people from the concentration camps all over Europe - Jews, Sinti & Roma, Poles, Russians, French, Spanish, Hungarian and Greek people), the fifties (refugees from Hungary after 1956, and refugees from other communist states, and guest workers from Poland and Italy in West-European French-, Belgian -Liège-, Dutch- and German coal and Brown coal mines. Also in the fifties came large groups from the European colonies abroad to Europe due to the decolonization process), sixties (Italian, Portugese, Spanish, Greek guestworkers and the first Turks and Moroccans in the late sixties), the seventies saw a large influx of Turkish, Turkish Kurd, Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian guestworkers, Vietnamese refugees (boat refugees they were called) and again a mass influx of people from the colonies and former colonies. Western-Europe became multi-ethnic and multi cultural and the first cultural tensions and (lack of) integration and assimilation problems emerged. Shabby migrant neighbourhoods, ghetto‘s and thus poorer area’s with a mixed native European underclass of workers and migrant workers appeared. That process continued through the eighties, nineties and into the 21th century with the emergence of the National Rightwing Populist movement and opposition in Europe.
An Iraqi migrant woman and her children sit on the ground in Hajnowka, surrounded by Polish border guards and police officers on October 14.
Especially after the migrant waves of 2015/2016 the public opinion in Western Europe turned against refugees and immigration. While the moderate Centre right and Centre left Democratic parties still ruled a large Rightwing populist and Leftwing populist opposition became increasingly Eurosceptic, anti-Brussels, anti-establishment, anti-elite, anti-immigration, anti-refugee, openly discriminatory, xenophobe, islamophobe (Anti-Islam) and racist. There were and are problems in over crowded refugee centers. Ethnic conflicts and fights between Syrian/Iraqi Arabs on one side and Eritrean Africans on the other side, between Somalians and others. Local rural farm communities suddenly lived next to huge refugee centers and were afraid that they would be outnumbered by these people from abroad. Tensions also existed between people who helped refugees and people who dislike or hate the refugees and want them out of their environment, out of their muncipality, out of their neighbourhood, out of their village, town or city. The sense of European ethnic identity grew due to the decades of immigration and refugee waves. People lost their empathy, compassion and humanism. It is like survival of the fittest. Each group takes care of it’s own people, family & friends. That seems to be the human nature. From the other side you have many European nations that are build out of pluriform, heterogeneous, mixed, multi-ethnic populations. Look at France, the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium and Sweden today. Multi-ethnic, multi-cultural societies with still a native European majority, but in the same time large non-European minorities.
Hajnowka, Poland
Today it looks like many native Europeans and old migrants say, it is enough. We have a balance now. The new large wave of refugees and migrants coming from Belarus and the Mediterranean (Turkey-Lesbos, Italy & Spain) threaten the European stability and balance between the ethnic groups. With hundred thousands or millions more of these Arab, Berber, Black African, Afghan and other refugees the group of Muslims and Africans becomes to large in Western Europe.
That’s why the National Rightwing Populists and the West European nationalists support Poland and Hungary on their tough border policies and anti-migrant influx stance. It is about percentages, about numbers, quota, and thus the ethno nationalist or peoples nationalist desire to keep Europe (White) European, Christian and Western Secular Humanist (the anti-religious stance of some ethno nationalist atheists, they reject the dogmatic, doctrinary, theocratic, absolutist and dominant Islam).
Freedom of religion, Freedom of opinion, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of thought, Freedom of Expression, the pluriform character of a Western democracy and Rechtsstaat is forgotten here.
I understand the just fears, I understand the grudge against refugees and migrants who look different, continue to speak different languages, have different cultures, different life styles, different family lives, different groups, organisations, communities, parties, celebrations, shops, supermarkets, neighbourhoods, churches, mosques, temples and sometimes even (Muslim) schools. But the hatred, disgust, contempt, fear, anxiety, rage & fury against these people is not good.
Poland is targeted by Belarus and has to settle West-European (German & Swedish) refugee & migrant policy problems. The EU criticizes Poland, but does not offers solutions.
In the mean while people are starving, freezing to death, having hunger and thirst in these forests. If this doesn’t stop soon I fear that there will be an armed conflict between Belarus and Poland. This Belarussian Regime is acting like a human trafficker. I heard stories about Refugees who were driven to Western Europe by Belarussian drivers.
This madness has to stop soon and the EU has the moral obligation to help Poland with funds, supplies, money, material, personnel (Frontex) and thus European funds. Forget about the differences of opinion for one moment and solve this humanitarian crisis. There are babies, todlers and children in these ice cold forest and swamps. Nobody knows what exactly is going on there.
Cheers, Pieter

Riots against the arrival of Afghan refugees in April 2021 near the largest refugees center in the Netherlands in Ter Apel
Ter Apel (Dutch pronunciation: [tɛr ˈaːpəl]; Gronings: Troapel) is a village with a population of 8,866 residents in the municipality Westerwolde in the northern Netherlands, in the province Groningen in the region Westerwolde. The town lies on the stream Ruiten Aa, which has the valley that together with the Ter Apeler forest belongs to the national network of nature reserves, the Ecologische Hoofdstructuur. An accommodation centre for refugees is located at Ter Apel, functioning as a "departure centre" for rejected refugees and a registration point, operated by the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA; Centraal Orgaan opvang Asielzoekers ). Ter Apel lies on the roads N366, N976 and N391. It forms the southern point of the border between Groningen and Drenthe, the Semslinie.
Many people were ashamed of these riots, because these Afghan people were our allies, worked for us, translated Afghan texts and sometimes saves Dutch military lives in Afghanistan. The bring the to the Netherlands was a honour question for many Dutch people, especially military people, Dutch police, medics and journalists who had been over there in the frontline.

Pieter, yes, all of this is very tragic and it marks a new wave of immigration (this time calculated by Lukashenko), after the first wave through the sea and the second via Hungary a couple of years ago.

Not to be the grinch of the neighbourhood, but a bit of reality, with the situation as of cause and effect. It is very logical that since Mr. Lukashenko has cause of creating this situation, it is to him to create the solution. That is International pressure be placed upon his shoulders of responsibility.
For as with the above, it would be as logical to give cause of what was/is the cause between Mr. Lukashenko to bring about this situation in the first place between Poland and Belarus, that is if the cause is known?

Hello Karl, Lukashenko is upset about EU sanctions for Belarus. He started this action of pushing immigrants to the boarder with Lithuania and Latvia, then he did it to Poland. Jaga Thank you for your prompt reply, now those who perhaps of not knowing the reasoning of this situation may now be better informed. well, cause and effect is beginning to show the ugly side of things in this continuing incident. For now of his being informed, the EU is in the planning stage of further sanctions against Belarus. The response at present from Mr. Lukashenko is to shut down the earth gas pipeline that crosses in transit through Belarus to Europe, this which he has the capability to do so. It may also be an example of why German/Russian gas pipe was built to avoid this type of situation as being under seas. It will appear at this time, The Moscow Times is one of the few publications to carry the more complete story of this continuing situation that is beginning to become an International incident, as follows: www.themoscowtimes.com/2021/11/11/belarus-warns-against-new-eu-sanctions-says-could-cut-gas-a75532Karl

After Merkel called Lukaszhenko he allowed for busses to take people from the boarder and locate them in the warehouse. Below is the distribution from immigrants by country many people from Iraq are kurds www.bbc.com/news/59233244With several thousand migrants stranded along the border between Poland and Belarus, the EU is taking action against those it believes are helping migrants travel to its borders. We've looked at the EU's claims about the migrants, and at how they are getting to the border. Where are the migrants coming from? Data from the EU's border force, Frontex, shows the main country of origin for migrants detected crossing the bloc's eastern land borders so far this year is Iraq. There are smaller numbers from Afghanistan and Syria, as well as other countries. Migrants EU The numbers have been growing steadily since the summer, and these are just the crossings that are detected and reported to Frontex. The vast majority of them have arrived in Minsk - the capital of Belarus - by air, and then travelled overland to the borders of EU states including Poland and Lithuania. Map showing main direct flight routes from Middle East to Belarus Minsk is served by direct flights from destinations across the Middle East - including Beirut, Dubai and Baghdad. The Belarus state carrier Belavia operates flights from Istanbul and Antalya in Turkey, as well as from Dubai. Turkish Airlines has regular flights to Minsk from Istanbul. BRUZGI, Belarus (Reuters) -Belarus authorities cleared the main camps where migrants had huddled at the border with Poland on Thursday, in what appeared to be a major development in a crisis that has spiralled in recent weeks into an East-West confrontation.
Belarus state news agency Belta said the migrants sheltering in the forest had been brought to a warehouse in Belarus away from the frontier. A spokesperson for Polish border guards confirmed the camps had been cleared.
