We are on travel going through Charleston, Savannah up the south to st.augustine today. There are numerous sites named after general Pulaski In Savannah, Georgia we visited Pulaski square and Pulaski monument. Today we visited Pulaski fort that was named after him but it was used in the civil war as apparently the strongest blockade against any attack by Confederates It was build of bricks but ut did not survive the surrender since the union had new rifled cannons. The good outcome was that the confederacy commander decided not to fight after 30 hours since they could not withstand the fire, as a consequence 700 soldiers were imprisoned for six months but then they were let go .
