There's a ton of genealogy books out there, and most seem to deal with gen. research using US sources, which is not what I need.
Does anyone have any recommendations for books on gen. research using eastern/central Europe sources? Specifically, doing such genealogy research over the internet?
I know there's a lot of websites for this, which I'm working my way through, but it would be most helpful for me right now to start out with a good book or two on this topic, to help give me a general idea of what my next step should be.

Although this book "Polish Roots" does not cover the internet, it is very useful and enlightening. I even sent it to a friend in Poland (so he would know what the Americans are reading. Jaga reviewed it nancy.polishsite.us/bookjaga.html

Thanks - I just now read that review and it does look like a good book. I think I need to add it to my "To buy in 2006" list!

Thanks Jim, I just visited and they have a great resource. Apparently, they have volunteers who own various references who will even do lookups for you!

Suzanne,
You might want to subscribe to some of the lists to get help. Polish Roots, Polish Genius, Herbarz, Poland etc. Some of the subcribers write articles for genealogical periodicals and are always helpfull.
