Is Germany complicit in Putin's war in Ukraine?
Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said Germany was "facing the consequences" of the new reality triggered by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. She stressed Europe's need to have the US as an ally and friend. Despite the major pivot to increase defense spending in line with NATO goals and strengthen its own military in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, she said Germany's first choice would always be dialogue. "We will never presume to go it alone. We will always remain closely integrated in the European Union, in NATO, in the United Nations," Lambrecht added. Lambrecht praised US President Joe Biden's leadership in the global political crisis triggered by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, adding that Europe needs the US as a friend and ally.
Germany's Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Friday that the country is planning to almost completely end Russian energy imports by the end of the year. Habeck, a member of the Green Party, said the plan meant that a considerable amount of progress would be made in a short space of time, as the West is rushing to wean itself off Russian energy amidst the invasion of Ukraine. Before the war began and the subsequent heavy sanctions targeting Russia, Germany received 50% of its coal, 55% of its gas, and 35% of its oil from Moscow.

Even though the article as presented by D.W. as a German publication stills has the taste of American style of political interferences in European affairs. In this case of course, the current issue dealing with The Russian Style of creating a buffer state by force in favour of Russian fear of Western invasion. This of course is a half and half truth dependent upon which side of the East and West invisible curtain one is standing upon. For to add petrol to the fire of concern in the minds of the Kremlin, is the constant encroachment of NATO in to the East toward the borders of Russia, with this, the political power the American Government/Military, is trying to seize upon Europe for what ever reason is very competitive between Russian influence and American military power displayed in the nature of NATO.
At present, is the condemnation exploited by the Americans against German industrial needs of energy, more targeted is German purchase of energy products of Russian sources, is the business of The German Government and none of the business of the American Government. For their industrial/Military politics has no place in German Industrial needs, it is hands off.
Industrial manufacturing is related to export, which then is the life blood of the German state, this takes precedence over a foreign power of influence as should have been previously understood.
It needs be considered of the reply as above is not meant to be offensive in nature, but as it is, a German reply to a stated article condemning reasons of actions of the German Government in business relations.
