Hello guys,
here is something to add to your collection of good music. He was a Greek composer who spend his life also in France and Great Britain, but music was his first and last love. I still remember when I listened to the radio and they were playing "I find my way home" which was composed by Vangelis and Anderson signed it (from group Yes) in 1982 before starting classes in the college this day and I loved this song immediately. There was something very special about it. I asked my father who was travelling to Austria, and this was not the time that travel was easy especially to the Western world to bring me the record player with this song and he did. Vangelis just died today in age of 78.
here is the song:
Jon & Vangelis - I'll Find My Way Home (Live on Top Of The Pops, 1982)
since then I felt in love with Vangelis music

Jaga,
Vangelis was a great composer. I loved his filmmusic.
He made music for Roman Polanski’s Bitter Moon.
Cheers, Pieter

Jaga
Although my self am not familiar with Mr. Vangelis, but do find his music quite charming. It was so very good of your father to locate for you the recording for your listening pleasure whilst on his travels..

I remember that the song was played a lot in that year and also later in the eighties. It is an old timer which is played a lot until today. Fact is that a lot of seventies and eighties hits from the USA, the UK and continental Europe keep being played on the Dutch radio. Sometimes to much to my taste. Some well known spongs I have heard may hundreds of times in 40 years. Cheers, Pieter

Pieter, I saw the "Bitter Moon". I thought that this movie was very thought-provoking. It was in times very difficult to watch, but also it had a lot of sense and bitterness. I think that Polanski is a genius, yes, he is weird and maybe he should be in jail but he is a genius.
