When and why did many Poles wear small resistors on their collars, suits or sweaters?

Guys, what about just trying? What do resistors mean? when could Poles express themselves by wearing resistors?

Just a guess...probably as a show of resistance against the communist regime when they outlawed the Solidarity movement.

Tex,
yes this is a good guess. Uncle Tim - thanks for trying! After the Martial Law was established people were unable to wear their Solidarity buttons, labels etc. They started wearing small resistors instead. Nobody could forbid them to wear them.... to show the resistance to the communistic government
