Mayor Halsema answers questions from a Dutch journalist about the Freedom of the Dutch Press and Media of news coverage of the Pro-Palestinian protests, and their protection by the police when they are attacked by Pro-Palestinian protesters. The Pro Palestinian protesters don't respect the freedom of press and media and only in a doctrinairy, orthodox way follow their own narrative. Doctrinary and Orthodox in Orthodox Leftwing sense, old Marxist-Leninist doctrines, Palestinian nationalism, and ignoring questions about the Hamas attacks of 7 October 2023, Hamas and the corrupt and opressive Palestinian Authority. Their vision is black and white. Israel, the Israeli Army, the Israeli institutions, Israeli people and Zionists and 100% wrong and the Palestinian people and the Palestinian resistance, Palestinian terrorism, Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the PFLP is 100% right; 'From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free!"

Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema lashes out at the pro-Palestinian demonstrators outside and inside the University of Amsterdam (UvA) protest during a tense and intense city council meeting in Amsterdam. There she came under fire from left-wing parties, who blamed her for her ordering the Amsterdam riot police, the ME, to end the barricades and the occupation and vandalism inside the University of Amsterdam (UvA). That action was harsh and put an end to the barricades and the occupation of the Amsterdam university. Halsema supports her decision and the Amsterdam police, her police. She said that the barricades created a dangerous situation, because medics, ambulances, the police, the fire brigade couldn't reach the island behind the barricades where the demonstrators had their tents, and various organisations present there; "Amsterdam University (UvA) students, Samidoun members, members of the Revolutionary Unit (Revolutionaire Eenheid; Maoist group), Internationale Socialisten (Trotskyists), some Radical Left GreenLeft members and politics, some Rood (Red) youth movement members, and members of the Dutch Anti Fascist squaters movement (Autonomen)."

Halsema defends her police and her decision; "Demonstrators threw heavy pave stones at the police, they threw heavy fire works at the police and they threw amonia (acid) at the riot police (ME), which could have heavily damaged police officers, their eyes and skin. This behavior was unacceptable for the authorities." She says; "Police violence is not a nice thing, and it hurts people whom are confronted with it, but when people do not obey orders from the Amsterdam police, damage public property, and cause enormous damaged to the property of the Amsterdam University, we have to put an end to it. The University called upon us, The triangle of Amsterdam (Amsterdam major Femke Halsema, the chief of the Amsterdam police Frank Paauw, and the Amsterdam public prosecutor René de Beukelaer) to act against the Pro-Palestinian demonstrators whom threatened the safety of University staff, university personnel (not involved in the demonstrations) and the large scale vandalism, aggression and intimidation inside and outside the University of Amsterdam. Halsema stood her ground, backed her own decision and stood behind her police officers. Of course Femke Halsema is not popular amongst the Pro-Palestinian demonstrators.

The triangle of a specific area is the consultation body between the representatives of the police, Public Prosecution Service and local government in the Netherlands. Depending on the area to which the triangle relates, one speaks of local or local triangle, regional triangle, or for example simply of "the Haarlem triangle".

A local triangle consists of:

- the major
- the manager of the police in that area (district chief)
- the public prosecutor

This consultation body is called a 'triangle' because it always consists of three people, each representing a different body.
