Should guests be able to post in the forum? Ideally anyone could post, but sooner or later some troll will come and invade us. Unless it is possible to fully shut out such people then it must be controlled form the beginning. Kai Can you specify what trolls might do to us? What kind of unwanted activity do you mean? If by trolls you mean people who ask difficult questions and critisize, even blacken, then again I am AGAINST removing them or limiting their access to the forum. It is a free country, one can speak what they want. In my opinion trolls can be censored or removed if they use abusive language or something.

The question is not what your opinion may be, but rather, CAN the trolls be effectively banned once they are here. And no, the little bit you mention of others with opinions does not fit "trolls", who are more akin to a guest at a party insisting upon disrupting all conversations rather than participating in any. If you have never encountered one you have led a charmed life on the internet! So we are not disagreeing as yet, unless you only wish to argue. Kai

Guys, I agree with the opinion of majority. Too much freedom and democracy - is not always good for the forum, although it may work well for states and countries. When people have differing opinions the problems begins. For instance I remember times when some people were very upset about posts of some other people, from different reasons. Then we will ban this person and then... somebody else was upset with us that we ban this guy. So - some people were threatening to leave us if we would not badn somebody else, and some other people would just want the opposite to be done. The worst was when I was trying to make a poll whether we should ban somebody or not - then people were accusing us on having absolute power... it would be much easier just to ban somebody without asking anybody else - and then nobody would notice maybe... I was so glad that for the whole time of stay in BellaOnline forum we really did not have any jerks-trolls who were invading us. So we did not have any dilemma. In Delphi we had one troll after another. One of our troll is below:

Jaga, You have forgotten about the one troll that pestered us for a while - changed its name several times - finally ended up as "Bleep." And claimed this was her picture (no, fellas, this is from a wig website)

Hello
Jaga, maybe we should consider providing a special board for guests, give them rights to post there but nowhere else. I've seen and used this kind of forums before, and it worked well. I think there are people who may want to post a single question, view the answers and never show up again, so there would be no need to register them as regular members.
