Yes the German troops sung this song while entering burning Warszawa in 1939. At least my Grandpa told me so. He even sung the song he hated for me... But I googled it and found that it was a neutral song similar to Szła dzieweczka do laseczka. German troops didn`t sing it as a fascist song, they treated it as a normal German song. I get the joke but it`s impossible. Eastern Germany didn`t distribute Western productions which were deemed suspicious.

I hope you've noticed that in spite of absolutely different artistic expressions Hmm, really? When I was interested in metal in 80s, Nina Hagen was a diva of hard rock too. But I didn`t like her then because she sang like a punk singer.

Val How may you say this? I am a guy, how may you love me? besides, I am married to a lady and she may object... Charles Charles, don`t think too much of it. Love to a man isn`t the same as making love with a man. Hmm, ok, boy do I hate these details Charles

Pawian Hmmm, gollies, I was not aware you are into rock and Metal? Sure, I remember those guys, I first watched them in Hamburg {Fast as a Shark}, I think it was Henning Basse, not sure now. What of though, Iron maiden? Or Black Sabbath? they put on some very good concerts.. {I have dial up, was unable to enjoy U-tube, sorry...} Charles Yes, it was my kind of music in 80s and 90s. Today I have eased up on it a little and listen to normal rock too. Accept was one of the greatest together with another German group - Halloween. Those guys played incredible music which I have kept till today and listen to it quite often. Apart from those two, also Iron Maiden, Manowar, Judas Priest, Scorpions, American groups Def Leppard and Wasp. And of course Metallica, the king of metal in 80s. And many others with seperate songs or whole records.

Ooopps, I missed this and Livia caught it. For she is very correct.. The fascist party borrowed for good reason. For this melody {Erika-Marsch} was excellent for keeping cadence in troop marching, for it was allowed for melody notes to correspond with the left boot heel striking in cadence. In actual respect, these songs were of long ago with our youth group movements from the early 20s, that of then {Wandervogel} {Jugendbewegung}-youth movement. These were primarily middle class boys using the guitar as a badge of membership with light trail hiking and through the neigbourhoods of the industrial districts. The nazI partie people were very good at borrowing of history and Runic symbols for their own purpose. For purpose of marching songs, it removes the fatigue factor and as same, promotes and maintains group integrity for a common purpose with focus. Charles
