Where is it from?:
"The last hope of..........(a name) was shattered. He expected the legation of amity and peace, but what he received was the legation of haughtiness and war."
Try this one now. If you can`t solve it, I will reveal more of the quote.

Pawian,
there is no way I can answer this "riddle' so I will have to wait for someone more educated than I.

"The last hope of..........(a name) was shattered. He expected the legation of amity and peace, but what he received was the legation of haughtiness and war.
So, lifting his watery eyes, he said: -We already have an abundance of swords, but I will accept these two as a good omen of victory.
And two giant tears ran down his tanned cheeks."

Jagiello is the missing name in that riddle and it was a quote from Krzyzacy the movie screenplay or Krzyzacy the book by Sienkiewicz. Krzyzacy movie poster. I'd like to see a picture of a pickle as a reward for solving the riddle.

Being unfamilar with the book or the movie - I did a search and this is what I found:
Krzyzacy a k a Black Cross; Knights of the Black Cross; The Knights of the Teutonic Order 1960 - Poland - Historical Epic
Type: Features Distributor: Film Polski Rating: NR (Violence/Not For Children) Running Time: 175 minutes Starring: Urszula Modrzinska, Aleksander Fogiel, Andrzej Szalawski, Grazyna Staniszewska, Henryk Borowski Directed by: Aleksander Ford
PLOT DESCRIPTION Also known as Knights of the Teutonic Order, this historic epic is set in 15th-century Poland, during the time of the Teutonic invasion. Danusia (Grazyna Staniszewska), daughter of warrior Jurandt (Andrzej Szalawski), is in love with firebrand Zbyszko (Mieczylaw Kalenik). Zbyszko has sworn to avenge the death of Danusia's mother at the hands of the invaders. When he is captured by the Teutonic hordes, it is Danusia who comes to his rescue. Shortly thereafter, Danusia and Jurandt are captured and tortured. Zbyszko embarks upon a long odyssey to rescue his beloved, but by the time he finds her, she has been driven insane. After three hours' worth of Knights of the Black Cross (Polish title: Krzyzacy), the viewer might also feel a little touched in the head. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Sounds interesting - I loved "With Fire and Sword" well, Sienkiewicz's whole trilogy via Hoffman's movies - is this movie anything like those movies? I would love to get up to Malbrok to see the Tuetonic forts.
Do you recommed it?

I would love to get up to Malbrok to see the Tuetonic forts. Do you recommed it? If you ask about Malbork, the answer is yes - it is surely worth visiting. Probably it is the biggest medieval castle in Europe. If you ask about the film, the answer is no, except for the last 20 minutes of the battle scene. The whole film is virtually indigestible because of its peculiar acting mannerism, I mean actors act in the style of pre-war black and white silent movies.
