Nelly Rokita, a wife of Jan Rokita, famous politician from the opposition party, became the advisor of the president.... who is of course from a different party. Look at her pictures here: wiadomosci.gazeta.pl/Wiadomosci/51,80271,4490301.html?i=1 By the way, Nelly Rokita comes from the German family that was settled in Georgia in XIX. During Stalin's times her family was resettled to Siberia, later went to Western Germany.

During Stalin's times her family was resettled to Siberia, later went to Western Germany. And two hours later her husband announces he withdraws from politics to make easier his wife`s future political activity. It is really big news because Rokita has been a politician for nearly 30 years now, recently a leader of PO. He said goodbye to all the people who supported him for all those years. He added that his act is a result of love to his wife. His party mates are flabbergasted. PO may lose some votes. PS. I can smell a rat here. Rokita is a political animal, we use such an expression in Polish to refer to somebody who lives off and for politics. His resignation surely has some deeper meaning. I wonder if Kaczyński brothers found some hooks on him and secretly they made a deal: Rokita withdraws from political life and the hooks are not revealed.

Yes, I have heard interviews with both of them. The guy who interviewed Jan Rokita had strange glasses (we were talking about the strange glasses in the other thread).
I guess, there is just a fraction between two individualities: Jan Rokita and Tusk. Rokita was one of the main advisors of Polish lady prime-minister Suchocka. In the past I used to like Tusk very much but for of them (Rokita andTusk) are more of the politicians than anything else now.
It was interesting to listen to Nelly Rokita, she had a foreign look (more French or English) but she speaks Polish with Russian accent and she behaves herself in a very Russian way, due to her upbringing there!

I do not believe that this is the end of Rokita. I also do not trust Kaczynski's, but there is so much change now and switching parties (Marcinkiewicz), very strange!
