The unemployment level in Poland decreased significantly, partly due to the fact that people can go abroad find a job but partly due to a better job market in Poland. The number of Poles working in GB is decreasing, many people are going back to Poland and attempt to open their own business: praca.gazeta.pl/gazetapraca/1,67527,4521410.html (in Polish)

Jaga, I couldn't work my way through the article - What kind of business are people opening up in Poland? Are they see new market opportunities and attempting to fill them?

I was just talking to my father, he told me that on the suburbs of Krakow (Niepolomice) - many small factories are opening.
referring to the private business, lots of them are somehow related to the computer and internet. But many businesses are more traditional. In the article they say that the girl who was working in BG want to open a small hotel, the other person wants to open a restaurant.

This sounds of good news Jaga!
The reversing of previous demographic movement as a return to the home land of Poland. With the general move to open a small business means they have learnt their lessons well and bringing this skills with them, all very good!
It is double good for the local and regional economy with a good mix of small business with that of Large. For each in-turn may compliment the other.
For often for a large business in manufacturing, the size creates a problem with a short manufacturing run of a component or item. For it becomes un-economical in investment of building the assembly process for a market value product, when, it is more cost effective to contract out to a small business with out the over head to sub-manufacture the product. Very normal practice in the Aircraft industry and auto manufacturing.
Each business in self, adds to the total for local/Regional and national. For each in self has a payroll pay out, and in-self as with placing into the market, a service or product. Each creates a tax payment in both federal/local taxes. As so, government is better able to provide public and national services on a higher level of both qualitative and quantitative.
It is good to hear of this turn about

Many Poles are very enterprising. The energy they devote, either here or abroad, to improving their life standard is really admirable.
I often travel a very local road from Krakow to a small town, about 30 kilometers long. The road is in terrible shape, even worse than normal Polish "road," but every 5 kilometers there is a filling station with petrol and LPG. Those stations are privately owned by people who risked their money in the past and today they gather fruits from their wise decisions.
It is a some kind of a paradox that statistically an average Polish citizen is better-off than the state he/she lives in.
