Yanc, what wonderful pictures. Your kids are very sweet. I am glad also to see your wife and you on the photo - yes, you look like on the picture attached to the forum The stork nest picture is also great, maybe Nancy can use it for some of her articles about storks? THe graduation picture looks almost exactly how it is in the US. We did not have special costumes like these kids do!

Hi
I will post some more pics from trips, funny and interesting places in a couple of days, IF I find enough free time to do so.

Nice photos Yanc. My godmother's name was Pelagia. This is now the second time I have heard this name. What is it in English if you know? Is it common?

Rdy,
I had never heard this name before I read "Jadwiga's Crossing" (see book thread).
So after reading your post, I looked it up in Hoffman & Helon's book on "First Names of the Polish Commonwealth."
They say it is derived from the Greek, meaning "of the sea." The only English translation is "Pearl."
The more I think about it, the more I like this name!

Hi folks
Chris - Pelagia is very uncommon name now, however it was quite popular till the 1920's. I knew only two real Pelagias in my life - my grandmother and grandmother of my school friend. The third one, not real, was "Pani Pelagia" from series of entertaining shows from 1980's by "Kabaret Tey".
