Yanc.. I inserted a photo. Let me know if you can view it. No I can't. There seems to be probelm with Webshots server. When I pasted picture URL to another instance of Internet Explorer it responded with error: "You don't have privileges to see the page". However after second try it opened up. I modified your link to be link - not image. It seems to help. Yanc Yanc, I've experienced the same problem with the Webshots website, not being able to link to a photo uploaded on their site. I've since uploaded photo's to Photobucket.com website and have no problem linking to them. Here's the link to Photobucket's Website, for those that are interested.... photobucket.com

Not exactly a photo of the village, but this is a shot of the outskirts of the village of Jaworze Dolne. This is the area of Poland that my great-grandparents immigrated to the U.S. from in the year 1873, eventually settling in the state of Texas. And a photo of the Catholic Church in the village. These photo's were sent too me by the person standing by the village sign in the previous photo. He's a distant relative of mine and resides in Poznan. I've been communicating with him through e-mail. Johnny M.

Pieter,
for you, I updated the discussion about Polish villages. Unfortunately it seems that some of the pictures are unaccessible.... just like with the strange circles seen from the air. One cannot access the pictures easily

I was wondering, how can you have a discussion of Polish village life without these guys making an appearance?

Yes...we were watching them on the Polish Stork webcam earlier this year. The German came was a better view. This year the storks were not so fortunate. Sad.

I believe this is Lanckorona. It is a tiny village preserved as Historical. People live in the houses but must keep as it was and make no modern changes.

JJ ...you didn't select the video button did you. Maybe that won's show up on this website. I can't see images either.

09/23 Happy Autumnal Equinox! Jaga, what sort of "village photos" would you like? I have some of Chochołów (Pohale Regon) - in 2005 and 2006; sleepy little town in 2005 & lots of work being done in 2006. Also have some of Scansen Mauryce (near Warsaw) in 2005 and Wdzydze Kiszewskie Landscape Park in 2006 in Kashubia near Gdansk. I would be happy to share if you let me know what size is best for you; also send to you or Nancy? I can post them on WebShots, but need time to get to the library to do that. Please, let me know what you'd like... GM
