I think the dog is a Podralanski. They are mainly used to fill baskets (as puppies) in Zakopane. Actually Are they used in the mountains for herding?

If you hadn't specified Polish, I would have said confidentally Pyrennean Mountain dog, but I'll go along with Chris's Podralanski as they are virtually the same breed - just about every mountain range has similar dogs.

yes this is owczarek podhalanski, Polish shepherd dog. I will post more pictures soon,
