Great stuff. I'm going to go through Lazienki park again when I have more time, I'm sure we'll have many of the same shots!

Here is the Warsaw sunset this evening. Today was around 33C, it was still 27C at 21:00.

In some ways I prefer this version with a little 'radial blur'. Reminds me of a Turner painting -

Scatts - Great pics - I like both versions. However, after having days and days of smoke in the air here due to the fires - I guess I would have to say the first one is my fav.
Can't wait to see your take on Lazienki.

Great pictures Scatts! You are able to capture a mood in your photos. Does your camera still have a view finder? I am finding that I have trouble composing my pictures with just using the preview screen my digital camera has. I really like the ability to take photos on the fly - but I can not seem to get the handle of the transition between what I want and maneuvering the camera to get the same thing.

Chris (Holli)
I assume you have an image editor of some make - I have two and use them mercilessly if I am not satisfied with the original shots - cropping, changing contrast, brightness etc. I think very few of my shots (with a viewscreen) escape some treatment. I think it goes back to my monochrome days when I did my own developing and printing - i had total control in the end product.

Sorry Holly, I missed this message of yours.
My 'big' camera does have a viewfinder. The compact does not. One thing that might help you compose is instead of trying to make sure you've got it just right, concentrate on making sure you've captured more than you need and then crop to the composition you want when processing in the computer.

For example. Here's a picture taken with the compact in Łazienki park the other weekend. The first is what I shot, the second is cropped to a better composition (possibly!). I have spent 2 minutes doing this just now so this is not the best example in the world. To have the flexibility to do this you need to take pictures at the highest size/quality setting so the originals are big and will allow you to crop but still end up with a good quality/size image.
