Bout etymology of Marzanna: I can remember that Dlugosz makes Marzanna goddess of death. However Dlugosz's Polish Pantheon is his own invention I will try to check it as soon as I can get his Annales in library. Marzanna can be variation of stem -moż/mor: mór, mary, z-marły, ś-mier-ć, compare with latin mors, mortis... It seems to be very interesting.

I would rather see its from "marznac" means to be cold.... since Marzanna comes after the winter
I do not deny other etymology, I just do not like anything related to death
