I would like to visit the eastern part of Poland where I have roots. I understand that getting from place to place there by either bus or rail takes a lot of time. I've been advised that renting a car would be the better option. Has anyone on this list had any experience traveling in that part of Poland, or have hired a guide that would guide and interpret. I am particularly interested in the Myszyniec area, in around the area of Siemiatycze especially north of Siemiatycze, and northeast of Zambrow in the powiat of zambrowski.

Hello, mskaz - I can answer only to some of your questions, but still I'll try. Getting from place to place does not take so much time but is extremely difficult if there is a language barrier. It is true especially for small towns and villages. I wouldn't go without an interpreter. Renting a car is an option - there are some international car-hire companies operating in Poland like Avis - you might check the prices via Internet. Where would you like to stay during the trip? How do you wish to book hotels - it can be difficult in small hotels to book through Internet and other places are quite expensive. If you need some more information, I can help you. Good luck with the preparations
