Dick, Lily husband - asked the following questions and i told him to come back to the forum and ask people around since you know more than me about travelling to Poland. I usually spend time with my family so I do not worry about hotels etc.

I would like to do that again in 2008 - for probably three weeks.......I don't think I'd do the entire country - but certainly would fly into Krakow - then do ZaKopane and go from there.
I would ask your opinion:
1. Best time as far as weather in the spring -
2. Best time to stay away from tourists rates -
3. Best time for spring religious festivals - city festivals - or music festivals
I'm hoping we can do bed and breakfast places or convents..........I know Divine Mercy in Krakow is a good one...........
