Did you hear about Spelt/Dinkel

This grain was popular even during the Roman times since it was eaten by gladiators before fight.
It was a very hardy plant, it let people survive during the Ice age. It is almost completely ignored now since it is not that efficient as other grains.

In Polish it was called orkisz, in German dinkel.

How so interesting! Have I to have forgotten so quickly...

Dinkel is found today in the present in Health food out let for people with Wheat in-tolerance. Very important ingredient for {dinketbrot} it is very neutral I have heard.

It is availeable both inWhite and wholemeal. I am not sure if available in America or Canada.

I was hoping you would respond since I think dinkel was more popular in Germany even than in Poland. Therefore I was checking the German website about it,
Dinkel - is such a nice name
