Hey!
I'm so sorry... I had terrible problems in my internet activity but now I think it should be OK. I must apologize you.
It is no my intention to make a off-topic but a few words about Sandomierz are worth to be written. I study Polish philology in Jagiellonian University (Krakow) and think seriously bout studies in Classical philology but I often visit Sandomierz. The city is said by Gallus Anonimus in his chronicle to be one of few main cities of Boleslaw Krzywousty. As a result of Krzywousty"s testament Sandomierz become a capital of Sandomierz Principality. In the 1200's city had survived 3 invasions of Mongols (or as they are often call in Polish historiography- Tatars). During one of them, Mongols had killed large group of Dominican monks. Rampage of eastern barbarians brought 49 new martyrs to Catholic Church. In cathedral church there are 12 large images of old Roman Martyrology (Martyrologium Romanum). Each image is connected with its month and presents death of martyrs commemorated in this month.
Today we have in Sandomierz some institutions of academical education, such as Wyższa Szkoła Humanistyczno-Przyrodnicza Studium Generale Sandomiriense (very poor...), Seminary and independent from Seminary Teological Insitute of Wincenty Kadlubek. Library of Seminary which has a large collection of medieval print books had been robbed in recent year by scholar in medieval history from Jagiellonian University which fact is horrible.

I was in Sandomierz about 7 years ago the first time in my life. I feel almost ashamed that this was my first time but Sandomierz's golden years were 500 years ago. This is a beautiful town and I think it is actually good for Sandomierz that it did not develop beyond its golden age. I loved it there!

Oh, thank you, it is great to hear such opinion... Right, the Old Town is what it is But there is a distinct called "Huta" which seems just like "Nowa Huta" and it stands for "industrial" part of town.
